  • Notes
    • [v14t2032.ftw] and Ancestry World Tree:

"The "old man", as uncle Walter called him, was a big man as I recall
but that is from the prespective of a child. He was at least a fire
plug in shape, not fat but solid. He had a large brush of a mustash
on a square face. His ears were large with big lobes. His ears did
not stick out but covered the side of his head. The man had a head
like a bear. His hair was white when I knew him which gave him more a
look of wisdom than old age. Often I belived he knew what you were
thinking by just looking at you. His back was bowed a little, more
correctly he carried his head forward like someone trying to hide his
height. He made his point very clear when necessary. Once when I was
6 or 7 years old I was playing in front of my Aunt Loni's house. The
"old man" drove up in that old car he had and asked "Are you ready to
go home?" I said "no!" my grand-father told me he had to go to Pearl
River and he was going to drop me off on the way. I said "no!" He
told me to "get in the car!" I said "no!" He than put the car in
nuteral, pulled up the brake, got out, pulled my pants down and fanned
my ass. After that he asked "Are you ready to go home?" I said
      "yes!!"

I learned a lot from him that day. First adults don't argue with 6
year olds. Second don't under estamate your enemy. Third If you plan
to win an argument or fight stay on your feet so you can move around
don't sit and wait for the forces of armageddon to decend on you."
