    • Paul Marc Coon

Forked River - Paul was born in Newark to loving parents Catherine and Marc. Paul was later joined by his sister, Judy. He attended St. Joseph's Elementary School, St. Benedict's Academy and St. Peter's College where he studied Latin. He joined the ROTC and graduated in 1967. Paul served as a Lieutenant in Vietnam.

Paul attended Fordham University earning his Masters in Latin. On Halloween in 1970, he attended a costume party and met his future wife Karen Schirmer. They raised their children, Bill, Jeanne, Christopher, and Kathryn, in a home full of love, learning, laughter, and sports. An educator, for over 35 years, he retired in 2003.

Paul loved the NY Yankees, all things Greek and Roman, liver and onions and fur hats in winter that looked a Russian czar's headpiece.

Paul and Karen moved to Forked River in 2003, and spent their days helping to take care of their adorable grandchildren, Reece, Matthew, Caryn, Lexi, and George.

Paul will be remembered by his life long love, Karen, his sister Judy and her husband Joseph Chimelewski, his son William Coon and his wife Samantha, his daughter Jeanne Bogath and her husband Richard, and his daughter Kathryn Dixon. Paul is no longer with us, but we're sure he rests easily because where he is the Yankees always win. If you must choose a way to honor his memory, please do not send flowers or make a donation. Simply live life like Paul. In a world where he could have chosen to be anything, he simply chose to be kind.
