      11, 1998, in Kla m a t h
      Falls.
      Services will be at 11
      a.m. Saturday in
      Suburban Baptist
      Church. The Rev. Bob Freeman
      will officiate. Concluding ser-
      vices with military honors fol-
      low at Eternal Hills Memorial
      Gardens. Visitation is until 6
      p.m. today in Eternal Hills
      Funeral Home.
      Mr. Toney was born Oct. 8,
      1925, in Slidell, La., to Major
      and Myrtis (Jenkins) Toney. He
      was also raised in that area.
      He was drafted into the Navy
      during World War Il on Dec. 27,
      1943, and served until honorably
      discharged in 1946.
      He married Virginia
      Ruttman in Alturas on July 21,
      1944.
      After his discharge from the
      Navy, they moved to Klamath
      Falls.
      Mr. Toney worked for sever-
      al lumber: mills including
      Ewauna Box Factory,
      Weyerhaeuser co., Klamath
      Lumber & Box, D.G. Shelter,
      Cal-pine, and Modoc Lumber
      co. before he retired in 1993.
      He was a member Of the
      Suburban Heights Baptist
      Church. Before that, he was a
      member Of the Calvary Baptist
      Church, where he served as a
      Sunday school superintendent
      and deacon on the church board
      of directors.
      He enjoyed hunting, especial-
      ly pheasants near Malin and
      Merrill, fishing on the Klamath
      River, Long Creek and Upper
      Klamath Lake, raising several
      bird dogs for hunting, guns, and
      Cajun cooking.
      Survivors include his wife,
      Virginia of Klamath Falls; sons
      and daughters-in-law, Major
      and Mary Toney Ill and Cliff
      and Janice Toney, all of
      Klamath Falls; grandchildren,
      Brian, Angie and Stacy Toney
      and Jennifer Helms, all Of
      Klamath Falls; great-grand-
      children, Kendra and Delaney
      Helms and Kirk and Kyle
      Toney, all of Klamath Falls;
      and sisters, Ray Morales and
      Julia Landrum of Louisiana.
      He was preceded in death by
      his parents, a brother, a sister,
      and a grandson, David Toney,
      on Dec. 26. 1976.
